US House Passes Record $1.15 Trillion Defence Bill to Fund Iran War and Others

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a record $1.15 trillion defence spending bill, approving funding for military operations, including the ongoing conflict with Iran.

The legislation, known as the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), was approved in a 216–212 vote, largely along party lines. The bill includes funding for continued U.S. military operations against Iran, pay raises for service members, new weapons procurement, missile defence systems, and military modernization.

Supporters of the bill say the funding is necessary to strengthen U.S. national security and counter threats from Iran, China, and Russia. However, critics argue that the spending is excessive and have raised concerns about continued funding for the war with Iran and other controversial provisions included in the legislation.

Meanwhile, US military spending will keep global inflation and energy prices volatile. Any time war tension flares up in the Middle East, fuel prices over here in Africa feel the heat instantly.

Funding another war in the Middle East… Have we not seen this movie before? Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Iran. Endlessly pumping money into foreign wars while innocent civilians bear the brunt.
