Recruiting trolls to polish an agency’s image on social media is the new ‘standard operating procedure’ in 2026. Instead of fixing their human rights record, they’d rather pay people to argue with us in the comment section. It’s a waste of taxpayers’ money.

Tosin Ajayi just got there, and he’s already being labeled as following the ‘old path.’ He has a chance to change the narrative of the DSS, but if he’s already focusing on ‘court PR’ instead of justice, then Sowore’s prophecy about him might come true.

At the end of the day, Nigerians just want to live in a country where they don’t have to fear the people meant to protect them. Whether it’s Tosin Ajayi or whoever comes next, the goal remains the same: accountability and the freedom to be a citizen without being bullied.

Sowore doesn’t back down, and you have to respect that. He is calling out specific names and even his own ‘friend’ involved in the PR machine. It shows that in the fight for a better Nigeria, there are no ‘permanent friends,’ only permanent principles.

It’s funny how these agencies always have ‘notorious spokespersons’ who become the face of oppression. Where is Marilyn Ogar today? Where are the others? They defended the indefensible and today they are nowhere to be found. Current spokespersons should take note.

Is the DSS really using trolls? If you look at the patterns of some accounts lately, it’s obvious. Any time there’s a critique of the government, twenty accounts with no profile pictures appear to defend them. We are not fooled by ‘copy and paste’ loyalty.

History doesn't lie. From the military era till now, security chiefs who align against the people always end up on the wrong side of history. You can protect a president, but you cannot protect yourself from the judgment of the streets once you are out of power.
