APGA Announces Screening Date for National and State Assembly Aspirants

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has released its official screening schedule for aspirants seeking to contest for Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, announced that the screening for National Assembly positions will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

For those vying for the Anambra State House of Assembly, the screening is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, at the APGA regional office in Awka. The party has mandated that all aspirants must appear in person and present original certificates of their highest academic qualifications. The screening committee has warned that photocopies will not be accepted.

The party has also instituted strict access controls at the screening venues, allowing only cleared aspirants and committee members to enter. Supporters and political associates have been advised to stay away to maintain orderliness. APGA emphasized that the screening process is free of charge and urged aspirants to report any demands for payment to the National Secretariat.

This screening exercise is a vital step toward the party’s primary elections as it seeks to consolidate its political influence ahead of the 2027 general elections. The schedule for aspirants from states outside of Anambra is expected to be communicated in the coming days as the party prepares its internal democratic structures.
