The alumni association of Igbobi College, Lagos, has issued a passionate appeal to its members worldwide to contribute to a newly launched N10 billion endowment fund. The fund is designed to ensure the long-term sustainability of the prestigious institution and to finance major infrastructure upgrades and educational programs. The call was made during a special stakeholders’ meeting held to discuss the college’s development roadmap.

 

Association leaders highlighted that the endowment is necessary to maintain the college’s legacy of academic excellence and character building. The funds will be allocated toward modernizing laboratories, expanding library resources, and providing scholarships for underprivileged but brilliant students. The association emphasized that collective effort is required to keep the institution at the forefront of secondary education in Nigeria.

The N10 billion goal is set to be achieved through various fundraising initiatives, including galas, corporate partnerships, and individual donations from the “Old Igbobians.” The board of trustees for the fund has been tasked with ensuring transparency and professional management of the resources to gain the trust of all donors.

 

Prominent alumni have already begun pledging their support, citing the transformative impact the school had on their lives. The association believes that by building a robust endowment, the college can achieve financial independence and continue to produce world-class leaders for generations to come.
