A coalition of civil society organisations, trade unions, youth groups, community associations, social movements and faith-based groups on Friday staged a protest in Lagos over worsening insecurity and the rising cost of living in the country.

The protesters converged at Ikeja Under Bridge, calling on the Federal Government to urgently address what they described as the deteriorating living conditions of millions of Nigerians.

Participants in the demonstration expressed concerns over the growing wave of insecurity, economic hardship and the increasing pressure of inflation on households and businesses.

According to the coalition, the protest was organised as a mass action against what it termed worsening insecurity, escalating economic hardship and policies affecting ordinary Nigerians.PICTORIAL: CSOs, Youth groups protest in Lagos over insecurity, economic hardship.
