Goodluck Jonathan’s 2027 Eligibility Suit Adjourned

The Federal High Court in Abuja has moved the hearing on the eligibility of former President Goodluck Jonathan to May 11, 2026. The suit, filed by a group of concerned citizens, seeks a definitive judicial interpretation of whether the former president can contest in 2027, given the constitutional amendments regarding term limits for those who have completed the terms of their predecessors. Legal teams for both sides are expected to submit their final briefs at the next hearing.
