Surah An-Nisa 4:134

“Whoever desires the reward of this world, then let them know that with Allah are the rewards of this world and the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.”

This verse is a powerful reminder of how small our human perspective can be. We often consume all our energy hustling for the immediate bags—the career growth, the money, the visa, the temporal comfort—forgetting that the source of everything we are looking for has a wealth that spans both this life and the next. Why settle for a tiny slice when you can have the whole bakery

I am not a muslim, but I find this very instructive

With everyone running at a crazy pace, navigating inflation, and constantly stressing about the next paycheck, it’s easy to develop tunnel vision. This verse calls us to a higher standard of ambition—reminding us that true success isn’t about ignoring this world, but about aligning our worldly pursuits with an eternal mindset

The structure of the verse shows a beautiful balance. Islam doesn’t ask you to be a monk and abandon the world, nor does it allow you to be a materialist who forgets their soul. It commands you to be balanced—seek your wealth, build your businesses, enjoy your life, but keep your eyes firmly fixed on the ultimate finish line

Allahu Alam

It’s a masterclass in divine psychology. Allah knows we are materialistic by nature and that we chase what we can see. By framing the Hereafter alongside the worldly rewards, He uses our natural desires to elevate our spiritual goals, encouraging us to aim higher than just what is directly in front of our eyes

Alhamdulillah.

Peace unto you

This verse teaches us to re-evaluate our prayers and our intentions. If our Duas are always centered around ‘give me this job’ or ‘give me this money,’ we are limiting ourselves. We should be bold enough to ask for the best of this life—success, peace, and prosperity—and the ultimate success of the Hereafter simultaneously
